A Snapshot Itinerary
Dec 14th DAY 1 | ARRIVAL & SNOWSHOEING INTO THE WILDERNESS
Flight arrives at Kuusamo (KAO).
Depending on arrival time, we’ll head out for a snowshoeing excursion to Pyhävaara or Juhannuskallio, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the forest.
On the first evening, if the sky is clear and the aurora chances are good, your guide will take you out to watch the northern lights. Hear stories of the aurora and starry sky, and return to the same spot on your own if the lights dance again.

Dec 15th DAY 2 | OULANKA NATIONAL PARK & FROZEN RAPIDS
Walk through a winter fairy tale as we explore the iconic Kitka River and Oulanka’s most scenic rapids – Myllykoski, Jyrävä, and Aallokkokoski.
We’ll trek with snowshoes or ice cleats, depending on snow conditions, and enjoy a trail lunch by a crackling campfire.

Dec 16th DAY 3 | HUSKIES & OPTIONAL DOWNHILL SKIING
A visit to Erä-Susi Husky Farm, including a thrilling 5 km husky sleigh ride!
Afterwards, you may choose to head to Ruka for an afternoon ofdownhill skiing (rentals and lift passes not included).
Dec 17th DAY 4 | SNOWSHOE ADVENTURE IN RIISITUNTURI NATIONAL PARK
We hike into the magical Riisitunturi, where trees bend under the weight of heavy snow, transforming into snow-covered creatures. This surreal landscape opens up to panoramic views at the fell’s summit.

Dec 18th DAY 5 | REINDEER FARM EXPERIENCE
We visit Kujala Reindeer Farm for a 1.5 km sleigh ride and farm tour. Meet the herd, feed them lichen, and step into the life of a reindeer herder.

Dec 19th DAY 6 | DEPARTURE DAY
Depending on flight time, we can visit Juhannuskallio or Ruka village before departure.
Transfer to the airport.
